Wow, has this break been the most UN-relaxing break ever. It started with gallbladder attacks and having to have my gallbladder out right after Christmas. Everything went really smoothly, and I am REALLY glad I did it before little Swanland got here because I can't imagine trying to take care of a newborn AND myself during those first couple days. The most important thing you need to know if you are going to have your gallbladder removed is DO NOT be around people who will make you laugh. There were multiple times when I would start laughing and could not stop and ended up bawling uncontrollably. It was awful.
We took a family trip to Great Wolf Lodge 5 days after my surgery, we had SOOO much fun! However planning it was our job and I really probably shouldn't have even been there. Both Paul's parents and sister and my parents and siblings came with us. I think everyone had a really great time, I love Kansas City!
About a week ago a close family friend passed away. It has been a hard time for my grandparents, I'm glad my aunt and uncle live so close to them now. The funeral is today at 4:00pm and we were planning on going, but opted to stay home at the last minute because....
Paul lost his job Monday. We have been running around frantically over the last couple of days trying to get everything sorted out. Now comes the dreaded job hunt. Wish us luck! We are going to need it.
OF course there are other little things here and there that aren't really worth mentioning. I don't think I could have handled it any better if all of this had happened over summer break, so I guess I'm glad we got it out of the way(and survived(so far)).

Portal 2
So Paul and I are WAAYYY behind on the times but we finally finished Portal 2! Co-op was sooooo much fun! I loved the puzzles and some of the new features that were added. Paul and I play games really well together and it really felt like when he couldn't figure the puzzle out I could, and vice versa. I haven't actually played the single player all the way through by myself yet, but I did watch/help Paul play all the way through and achievement hunt. I wasn't as impressed with the single player content. I don't know if it just felt long (I was expecting a length more like the first Portal) or if it really was just long and a little bit redundant. I don't even think I would play through the single player content if it weren't for the portal gun and companion cube achievement award that can be unlocked. Way to get me with accessories Valve!
We also got Red Dead Redemption (Finally right?) and I have played it a little bit, but I barely have enough time to get in all my studying as it is! I'm in bed by 9 every night >.<
So I had mentioned that we have news! I can finally announce it. Swanland-Land is going to have another citizen! Baby #2 is on the way. Official due date is 4-1-12! This is going to make next semester VERY interesting. And yeah, that is why I am so tired that I am going to bed at 9:00. So tired! Deadz.

Dog Days
Oh me! Oh my! Man has it been hot here in Kansas recently! It has been up in the 100's 40 days already. What the heck is up with that?Last weekend we headed up to Council Bluffs, Iowa for my Great Uncle's 70th birthday! It was great to get away for a little bit and catch up with the family. Here is a picture of the Hollster with her Great Grandma
On a sewing note, I started a shirt re fashion project and ended up scrapping it after I cut the shirt up. Does anyone have any ideas? Here is what I currently have
I was going to turn it into a tank top and make a dress with some extra fabric from a previous project... then I decided they didn't match :D

Kickin' the cold
Well, I cannot seem to kick this cold! On the bright side it isn't getting any worse. And it is a great excuse to take a nap. Paul and I got some great news yesterday, but I can't share it just yet.Paul has the day off so we are definitely gonna spend some quality video game time, probably Borderlands or Halo 3. We'll see. I might come back and add more later, we'll see.

Day 1
Day 1:
To start off with, I feel horrible. Menu for the day: Luden's Throat Drops. What is that you say? "Those aren't even really medicine!" I'm sick. Leave me alone. So I'm at work right now. I am supposed to be tutoring, but only one student has shown up today which means more free time for me! What else is in the plan for today? Well work from 1-5 and then Picking up Holly (my 19 month old daughter) from daycare. Then I will probably go collapse on the couch for a bit. Paul (my husband) is hanging out with friends tonight so I probably won't see him which means I can make pancakes to my hearts content tonight :D Holly loves pancakes. I'd like to think that she gets that from me. She is pretty much ready to move into a toddler bed, so I really need to get her quilt finished.
I have the top done. It is a double Irish chain, probably my favorite to make. It is SOO easy! Maybe someday I'll put a tutorial up!
One last note, in case my husband ever stumbles across this: I NEED FABLE III! *and the matching controller*
That is all for now, I'm gonna go cough up a lung.
