Date Night: Headshots Bar & Grill and The Warren

Four years and one day ago I married the most amazing man. But, this is not a post about mushy-gushy feelings. Let me tell you where this amazing husband of mine took me. First stop: Headshots Bar and Grill in Wichita. It is a full fledged bar with a long row of couches connected to flat screen TVs and lots of gaming systems, all of which are free to play!

We sat down at the bar and had a couple of drinks and some delicious fries slathered in chili, cheese and bacon. OH. MY. GOD. They were good. Happy hour was from 2-5 and all drinks were half price. They also had some all-day drink specials. I finally got around to trying Redd's Apple Ale, I wasn't too thrilled with it. It really just tasted like watered down apple juice to me, not good, not bad, just meh. Paul really liked it, I can't believe that we are trading places, I would rather drink beer and he would rather drink cider. It's a strange world we live in folks.

Redd's Apple Ale: Meh
Blue Moon Pumpkin Ale: YUM!
Ethos IPA: YUCK.
I don't know why I keep trying IPAs. I'm convinced that eventually I will like them but that one was WAAYYY too hoppy. Baby steps.
We had a really good time at Headshots. The bartender/owner, Ryan, was great, easy to talk to and hold a conversation with. Next time I'll take some friends and actually try some of the games out!

Next stop: The Warren! We got balcony tickets to see Riddick, and this was our view:
I love Love LOVE sitting in the balcony, I wish it wasn't so gorram expensive. Riddick was alright, I'm glad I had a couple of beers first, I don't think I would have liked it at all otherwise. It was campy and had the feel of an 80's movie, hairstyles and everything! The graphics were a little better though. We had a great time though!

Battle Stations Gaming

If you have an interest in gaming of any sort and are near Wichita, KS you really need to check out Battle Stations Gaming. It is at Central and Greenwich near Orange Leaf. This place is awesome, they have stations for both console gaming as well as PC gaming. They also have areas for tabletop games and card games and they always have some sort of sale going on. Paul and I could spend HOURS there. Not only do they have games for you to play, they have consoles, games, supplies, accessories, snacks, pretty much anything you could want to go along with this hobby. The people are very friendly, and they host groups meeting including the Streetpass Kansas group I'm a part of (which you should also check out if you have a Nintendo DS).
They had their 1 year anniversary party there yesterday with free gaming and cupcakes to celebrate! We met some friends and played a little bit of Left for Dead 2 and Portal 2. I'm grooming Ashley (pictured) to be a hardcore nerd like me! I really like having a place to go to play socially, instead of just camping out in the basement. Paul and I go here for our date nights sometimes, we both like gaming too much for our poor little wallets! I really enjoy the environment. I can't wait for the kiddos to be old enough to enjoy it with us. I hope to see some new faces there soon!

Trust me, I'm a nurse.

I am officially a nurse! I am so dang proud of it too. Oh, yeah, and on top of that I got my dream job working in Labor and Delivery. I gotta say, when I was born, I must have rolled really high in luck. Life is going spectacularly at the moment. However I always feel a little bit leery posing something like that because I think things will go downhill soon after. I actually have time to do fun things again, like play video games and sew! I am in the process of finishing up a Belle princess dress for Holly, maybe that will be my next post?
